GP Obstetrics Update Day: Preterm birth
On Saturday, we did a day of GP education. Attached is the case study that I used and the summary of recommendations.

The key points we wanted to get across were around:
Awareness of risk factors for PTB
Importance of cervical length measurement for all woman at mid-trimester u/s
GP-initiated progesterone treatment for cervical length 25mm or less (in addition to urgent referral)
GP-initiated progesterone treatment for previous preterm birth 20-34 weeks
Evidence & role for Omega-3 supplementation
Importance of smoking cessation
Mitigation strategies for other risk factors for PTB
