This is one that comes up frequently. What should we recommend to women who have just had their baby born by caesarean section? There's a confusing mix of terminology: interdelivery interval / interpregnancy interval and timings that range from 12 months to 3 years!

I recommend waiting a year before falling pregnant again. Pregnancy before baby is 12 months of age is associated with an increased risk of placenta praevia, placental abruption, preterm birth and uterine rupture with planned VBAC.
